Heading home; passing Cherokee

Thursday, October 28th- I'm headed back to my favorite place to put my head.                        H       O.       M.        E!      Most of the restaurants and businesses in the mama grirty area/ Asheville area of North Carolina don't have enough employees so have adjusted their hours accordingly.       I stopped at the Black Mountain Children's Home because I always make it a priority to stop at orphanage wherever I travel around the world. I think the secret heart in me is just needing to know that they are being treated all right. I found the Children's Home nestled in a little like Campus of schools- the elementary school, the Middle School oh, the high school and, the Alternative High School... right across the street from a South Carolina women's prison. The guy I talked to at the Children's Home told me that, or rather...

Onward to Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground

10/27/21-  this is the campground where I get "the view." It cost me $165 for one night. But once you see the views, oh, you'll know why I splurged and got it.         By the way, the campground I was in yesterday,Sleepy Hollow campground in Bristol, Virginia, is the kind of Campground I remember going to when I was a kid with my family: really woodsy, private sites, two deer sightings before morning, few Neighbors, and a good clean bathroom / shower. It was $20 cash a night. Like a campground should be!- not the 50 and $40 that I've been charged for every day, with the exception of a couple for 32 or $36.  Through the woods, well after Dark, a camper moved in and Dubai was up and a detention at the window, growling to get them!  Yes, I take her to the bathroom with me when it's pitch-black sometimes.      The GPS says 2 hours to Mama Gertie's, which means about 5. We'll see.        Well I'm here, and ...

I met a man named Happy today!

He was at the Exxon at the foot of the mountains where the road goes 55(mph) and you're glad to be alive.  In a rainbow-striped bathrobe and a funny hat on his head,  he looked like he had just climbed out of bed.  Except his van was painted in colors Galore,  and was painted with sayings from top to the floor.      You need to have your picture taken! I said to him as I came from the bathroom. You know, he said I've been thinking that all morning and so he stood, gas pump in hand and smiled for me, even more so when I said "teeth."     "It's just a joy to be alive," he said, Flatley as he smiled at me. "    " I think I know that guy," he said when I showed him the picture. I asked him what his name was and told him mine. He said  Blue mt. View for dinner  Breakfast- if one more waitress in her twenties calls me sweetheart or honey oh, I'm going to smack them.where did this foul etiquette start? Who sanctione...
